Perimenopause/ Menopause

In many cultures, a woman’s menopause is celebrated as a beautiful transition to a new stage of life and the emergence of the “wise woman”. Sadly in the West, it is often viewed as an illness,
something to be ‘treated’, which is not always the case. It’s a natural hormonal transition, just like puberty and pregnancy.

Reflexology for perimenopausal or menopausal women works by regulating the hormones and glandular functions of the body and relieving stress. By working with the endocrine system, this in turn may alleviate menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes, depression and insomnia. By calming the central nervous system and reducing stress levels, sleep disturbances and anxiety may also be alleviated.

Joanna always takes a holistic view and may also offer lifestyle and well-being suggestions. Whether you're on HRT, or prefer a more natural approach, a reflexology session is a safe space in which to relax, receive self-care and focus on yourself.

Joanna says:

“The menopause is one of the few certainties in life, so if you have the chance, get ready for it both mentally and physically. It's about investing in yourself and embracing the change with a positive attitude that allows you to get through this transition as comfortably, happily and naturally as possible.”
